Help if your landlord isn’t registered

All social housing landlords must be a member of our Scheme. This includes all housing associations, local authorities, non-profit organisations, co-operatives, and ALMOS.

We also have voluntary landlords that choose to sign up to the Scheme.

Check if your landlord is a member of the Scheme

If you cannot find your landlord, please contact us and give the full name of your landlord and the kind of tenancy agreement you have to info@housing-ombudsman.org.uk.

Help with a private landlord

If your landlord is private and not a member of the Scheme, you cannot bring a complaint to the Housing Ombudsman Service. There is currently no Ombudsman to investigate complaints from residents of private landlords.
